New Parliament Building India Design


PM Modi lays the foundation stone of the New Parliament Building today means on 10th December 2020. They also share about New parliament building India Design.

Here is all you have to know about the NEW PARLIAMENT BUILDING.

The new Parliament building will be constructed in New Delhi. The new parliament building will be ready by the year 2022.

The current Parliament Building’s 1st stone was set on 12 February 1921 and it took 6 years to build a whole structure and it costs Rs. 83 lakh. The opening ceremony was held on 18 January 1927.


In the speech, our honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji speaks about the new building and said that this building will be “Co-existence of new and old”. They also stated that this new Parliament building will witness “Atmanirbhar Bharat” campaign.

64,500 Square Meter in total area

The structure of the new parliament building would be built on an area of 64,500 square meters which is 17,000 square meters more than the current building.

Build at the cost of Rs. 970 crore.

The new Parliament Building will have a basement, ground floor, first floor and its height will be same as the old building and will be built at an estimated cost of Rs. 970 crore.

This would be the paperless office.

As a step towards creating ‘Paperless offices’ the office of all MP’s in the new building will be equipped with the latest digital interferences.

Constitution Hall

The new Parliament Building will have a constitution Hall to showcase the original constitution, a lounge for MP’s library, multiple committee rooms, dining areas and ample parking area/space.

Seating capacity of over 1,000 members at a time

The new Parliament building will have a seating capacity for 888 members in the Lok Sabha (Currently seating capacity is 543 members) and the Rajya Sabha will have a capacity of 384 members (Currently seating capacity is 245 members).

Six Entrance Building Structure

The new parliament building will have six entrances, 120 office spaces and will be earthquake resistant.

The best part of the building is that the whole building is Earthquake Resistant for all the 120 offices, for constitution hall

TATA Projects Limited will construct

Tata Projects Limited won the bid of constructing new parliament building at Rs. 861.90 crore and it will be constructed close to the existing one under the central Vista redevelopment project.
