Recently Sonam Wangchuk sir has come up with an innovation that could help our Indian soldiers to stay warm in the freezing cold atmosphere of Ladakh. Sonam Wangchuk shared the images of a solar-powered military tent, which he claims can keep Indian Soldiers warm at 15 degrees even when it is -14 degrees outside.

“SOLAR HEATED MILITARY TENT for Indian army at Galwan Valley is at +15 C at 10 pm now. Minimum outside last night was -14 C, Replaces tons of kerosene, pollution and climate change For 10 jawans, fully portable all parts weigh less than 30 Kgs. Made In India Made In Ladakh Carbon Neutral,” he wrote on his Twitter.

Sonam sir further said that the solar heated military tents can be used by 10 Indian Army jawans at a time and is completely portable to them.

Sonam Wangchuk’s latest innovation made impressed many. Where Anand Mahindra (Chairman of Mahindra Group) also said in a tweet that “Sonam, you’re the MAN! I salute you. Your work is energizing, even this late in the evening”.

Some other inventions:-

Just not that, Sonam sir has also come up with a great way of providing fresh water to villages in the upper area of Ladakh were in the biggest crisis situation happens. He uses a source of water from the nearby streams and also uses his artificial glaciers (Ice Stupa) that would stock freshwater for the community and that comes very handily in the springtime.

He also had made India’s 1st Ice Stupa in Ladakh, where it is a form of glacier grafting technique that creates artificial glaciers, used for storing winter water (which otherwise would go unused) in the form of conical shaped ice heaps. During summer, when water is scarce, the Ice Stupa melts to increase water supply for crops

Sonam Wangchuk also has a total number of 400 patents in his name.

He has said, “There have been others before who have worked in this field but faced problems like premature melting. To solve these problems, we have built vertical ice towers which are useful and it is a simple method.”

So that’s for today about Military Tent by Sonam Wangchuk.
