ISRO successfully launched India’s 42nd communication satellite

The ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) on Thursday dated 17 December 2020 successfully launched India’s 42nd communication satellite from “Satish Dhawan Space Centre” (SDSC), Sriharikota (SHAR).
This CMS-01 Satellite launched from the Polar Satellite launch Vehicle (PSLV-50). The previous rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C49/EOS-01) blasted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC). This is the second satellite launched by ISRO amid the coronavirus (Covid-19) Pandemic.
Amid Coronavirus Pandemic ISRO launches PSLV-C49 with an earth observation satellite for the 1st time on 7th November 2020. As per ISRO, EOS-01 is an earth observation satellite designed for applications in agriculture, forestry and disaster field management support in India.
Hence the PSLV-C50 launch vehicle put the communication satellite CMS-01 in orbit that will provide coverage for disaster management and satellite internet connection.
This satellite is the first satellite in a new series of communication satellites after the “INSAT” and the “GSAT” series by launched by ISRO.
The successful launch of the country’s 42nd communication satellite named as “CMS-01”.
The CMS-01 is going to provide services in the Extended-C Band of the frequency spectrum which will cover the Indian mainland, Andaman-Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep Islands.
The CMS (Communication Satellite) satellite series will be the new series of communication satellites after the GSAT and INSAT series which launched by ISRO.
