Prithviraj III, who known as Prithviraj Chauhan, born on 01/06/1163 – died in 11/03/1192 at the age of 28 years. The king who established the strongest kingdom in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Prithviraj Chauhan was king from Chahamanas of Shakambari. A ruler of the Chauhan dynasty who is proficient in military skills, hence they took the throne of Ajmer at age 13 after his father died in battle.

After defeating Mohd. Ghuri in 1st battle of Tarain, he asked to attack the retreating army. But, due to true Rajput tradition, they refused to do so because it did not fair to war rules
After escaping Mohd. Ghuri attacked again in 1992 and the second battle of Tarain Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated and captured. After capturing, they were treated very badly, they were made them blind due to his eyes were burnt with red-hot irons. But, Prithviraj Chauhan did not lose courage. With the Help by his court poet and a good friend Chand Bardai, they believed to kill Mohd. Ghuri with his “Shabda bhedi baan”. They were skilled by hitting the target by hearing the sound waves made by it. And during the archery competition which is organized by Mahmud Ghuri, they displayed his skill. When Mohd. Ghuri praised for Prithviraj Chauhan, He heard his voice and attacked in direction of sound waves. Mohd. Ghuri was killed in one shot. In order to escape death in the hands of enemies, they and court poet Chand Bardai stabbed each other.

Chand Bardai made the story on the life of a great warrior “Prithviraj Chauhan” in his epic poem book “Prithviraj Raso”. In the book, Chand Bardai mentions some shocking news that one day Prithviraj Chauhan went to the forest where they meet a tall old man who had extreme bleeding in his forehead. As Prithviraj Chauhan was a good vaidya(Doctor), he promised an old man to cure his wound. But Prithviraj Chauhan tried to treat him for many times but failed to do so, then Prithviraj Chauhan asks the old man his identity, the old man says “I am Ashwathama”. Prithviraj Chauhan touched his feet, Ashwathama was pleased by Prithviraj Chauhan and they taught him the technique of attacking someone with the bow and arrow by closing eyes.
एक एव सुहृद्धर्मो निधनेऽप्यनुयाति यः।
शरीरेण समं नाशं सर्वम् अन्यद्धि गच्छति ॥८.१७॥
This Verse being chanted by Prithviraj Chauhan at the time of death. This is wrote in “Manasmruti” (Hindu Granth)
Which defines” religion is such a friend, who walks with death. All other things perish with the body”. According to the opinion of historian Dr Bindhyanath Chauhan, Prithviraj practised the said verse till the last breath.
